As we hurtle toward an uncertain future, what will become of humanity? In 100 years, I envision a world where rising sea levels have swallowed the Earth's surface, forcing us to descend into the deep sea—a realm of darkness, pressure, and alien life. Inspired by marine creatures with translucent skin and massive bodies that conserve energy in food-scarce depths, I chose PVC—a material with transparent, synthetic qualities—as the primary fabric of my garment. Wool felt layered on PVC mimics the shifting hues of the ocean, particularly at the chest and pant hems, evoking the eerie elegance of deep-sea life.
Meanwhile, with medicine advancing to the point where consciousness may one day outlive the body—transplanted into machines—my design envisions the post-human. Silver-reflective cardboard sculpts artificial “organs” in the chest, echoing both cybernetic beauty and metallic detachment. The exaggerated silhouette reflects a haunting truth: in a hyperconnected future, our physical proximity may vanish, leaving only the ghost of human intimacy in a mechanized world.
